Sunbelt’s wire tie-downs are an efficient, reliable way to fasten cabling onto metal surfaces. Call Sunbelt Stud Welding at 1 (800) 462-9353 to learn more about our wire tie-downs and other weld studs.
Installing Wire Tie-Down Weld Studs
Installing these fasteners is also simple because it does not require any drilling. Wire tie-down weld studs are attached to surfaces using a capacitor discharge (CD) welding system, meaning they can be installed in under a second.
First, one places the wire-tie down stud in the chuck and sets the CD weld gun against the work metal. Upon pulling the trigger, energy is released from the capacitor, melting both the tip of the weld stud and the respective portion of the work metal. These molten potions then solidify, leaving a high fusion weld in its stead.
Once the stud is welded, you remove the excess stud, leaving a flat surface on the saddle. The ties are then inserted into the saddle and wrapped around the cables. The video below demonstrates the simple installation process of these wire tie down studs.
Benefits of the CD Wire Tie-Down Studs
Wire tie-down weld studs are attached to surfaces using a capacitor discharge (CD) welding system, meaning they are not subject to the same wear-out that that adhesive wire tie-downs experience. These weld studs do not require drilling.
The nature of these wire tie-downs allows for the saddle to swivel, meaning cables can be moved and turned without creating tension on the tie-downs. This allows prevents the saddles from snapping.
The extended lifespan of these wire tie-downs can also save you money: no expensive retrofitting is needed if they don’t break!
